Professional retraining programme

Sectoral Translation

Upon completion of the professional retraining programme "Sectoral Translator," graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in specialized translation roles within various organizations and institutions in the agro-industrial sector. The programme prepares students to engage in a range of professional activities essential for effective communication within this field. Graduates will possess the ability to conduct in-depth research on specific translation topics, compile specialized thematic dictionaries, and engage in intercultural and interlingual communication both verbally and in writing.

Course content:

1. Introducing foreign language theory

2. Introducing intercultural communication

3. Tutorial on verbal communication

4. Translation theory

5. Introducing business language and correspondence

6. Exploring learning language country culture

7. Practical translation and interpretation course in specific professional fields

8. Specific professional subject in a foreign language

9. Introducing linguistics

10. Russian language stylistics and speech culture

11. Work experience internship

12. Final certification

Graduates who have completed the professional retraining programme will develop expertise in analyzing information materials for translation, mastering terminology relevant to the agro-industrial sector, and ensuring technical equipment readiness for translation tasks. They will be adept at systematizing information materials related to their translation projects, conducting pre-translation analysis of source materials, and preparing meticulously for the translation process within their professional domain.

By honing these essential skills, graduates of the "Sectoral Translator" retraining programme will be well-prepared to navigate the complex demands of the agro-industrial sector's specialized translation needs. They will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between international organizations, industrial enterprises, design and research institutes, and companies within the agro-industrial sector. With their comprehensive training and expertise, graduates will be poised to make significant contributions to the industry through accurate and nuanced translations that bridge language and cultural barriers effectively.

Entry Requirements: participants with a Pre-Intermediate level of English at CEFR level A2 having/receiving secondary professional education or higher education
Course credits: 40 credits (1500 academic hours)
Modes of study: face-to-face tutorials supported by our virtual learning environment
Course language: English; Second language (French, German) learning is possible for learners who speak English at least at Intermediate level (CEFR level B1)
Course duration: 2 years 5 months (5 terms)
Issued document: Professional retraining diploma of the established sample with the qualification "Sectoral Translator"
